Court orders

Emergency Protection Order

If you or members of your family are in danger of family violence, you can get fast protection through an Emergency Protection Order (EPO). An emergency protection order is a legal order that is a safety measure to help keep victims of family violence safe.

Call 1.866.223.775 or your nearest RCMP detachment for help getting an Emergency Protection Order. It is helpful to ask about enforceable conditions and safety planning, too.

Court orders

Talk to a victim services worker, counsellor, lawyer, or your local RCMP about other court order options, such as a restraining order or peace bond.
